Frequently Asked Questions
What is the advantage selling my property privately?
There are many reasons to sell your own home privately. You are the only person with the interest to sell your property for the best possible price. All the real estate agent is interested in is selling the property at any price to get the commission. The obvious reasons are: better sale price, faster sale, less stress, saving of thousands of dollars in real estate agent commission, more negotiating power with the buyer as the price becomes more flexible because of the commission saving, full control of the selling process.
How can propertyeasy.com.au help me sell my property?
Propertyeasy.com.au is a professional real estate advertising website focused purely on advertising private sales only. As buyers realize that a better deal can be found among the private sales and the negotiations being easier dealing directly with the seller in person, our website is the first destination of all buyers to look for a property for sale. This gives the seller the priority for the property to be viewed before all the other agent sold properties.
How much does propertyeasy.com.au charge for this service?
Our basic package is priced at $299 to upload your property to our website and keep it there until you sell the property, there is no time limit. This package includes a detail upload record of your property with 5 pictures and a "FOR PRIVATE SALE" sign to be placed in front of your property. More expensive packages include the services of a professional photographer, printed flyers and other extras. Please check out our Fees and Charges page for more information.
What if I already have a real estate agent selling my property?
Unless it's an exlusive contract to sell your property by the real estate agent you can list your property with any other agency or sell it privately. Make sure you advise your real estate agent about this to avoid any disputes about the commission paid when the property is sold (you don't want to pay a commission to the real estate agent if you sell the property privately on propertyeasy.com.au)
If your property is an exclusive listing by an agent you must, in writing, cancel the contract with that agent before listing on Property Easy.
How long will my property be advertised on propertyeasy.com.au?
Your property will be advertised on propertyeasy.com.au until sold or until you decide to delete it out of our database.
If I'm a first home buyer, will it effect my first home owner grant?
No, it makes no difference whether you buy your property privately or through an agent. For info on the first home grant click on this link to go to the goverment webpage with the detailed information: http://www.firsthome.gov.au/
How much commission does propertyeasy.com.au charge?
There is no commission. Your fee paid for advertising is your only expense!
Should I make my email address available to buyers?
You can choose to make your email available to buyers or not. We do not recommend it as you might be targeted by SPAM. A genuine buyer will contact you by the phone numbers you provide if seriously interested in purchasing your property.
How can buyers contact me?
You will provide a contact telephone number of your choice in the ad you upload.
If you do not have a telephone number available or you do not have a mobile phone on which you can be contacted at all times we strongly suggest to purchase a cheap prepaid mobile phone for the sale period. Remember - if the buyer cannot contact you, they cannot buy from you!
What if the details of my property change during the sale period?
You can change your property details at any time by logging into your account and simply changing any data, description, selected features and the pictures of the property. The only information that cannot be changed is the address of the sold property.
My photo's are too big to upload what can I do?
Some of today's digital cameras are high resolution creating a picture that is too big in size to upload. These photo's are great for printing but need to be resized for upload to our website. The easiest way to prevent this problem is to take pictures in "Low resolution mode" or "Low quality" setting on the camera. In your camera's manual find out which mode produces the size of the pictures 640 x 480pixels or dpi. This is the resolution the pictures are displayed on propertyeasy.com.au so it is unnecessary to take pictures at a higher resolution as they will be automatically resized to this size anyway while uploading. The bigger the picture you're uploading the longer it will take to upload. If the picture exceeds the size of 2Mb you will have to resize it before you upload it. Please click here to download a Microsoft Power Tool picture resizing tool that will resize your pictures before upload: ImageResizer.exe After clicking on this link select to run this program installation then select run again to install it. Just follow the prompt. This is a very simple tool, where you right click on the picture you want to resize and select "resize picture". Then you simply select the size you want to resize to (in this case 640x 480) and the program will create a resized copy of your picture in the same folder. The new picture is the one you will upload.
